With the greatest pleasure, we are thrilled and honored to welcome living legend Savion Glover to Stockholm!
For the first time in Sweden, Mr Glover will share his invaluable knowledge from a life of dance and music, both in educational sessions and on stage, presenting his latest production as the 2025 festival opening show.

Savion Glover is a virtuoso artist, choreographer, director, and actor who revitalized and re-rhythmatized The Dance for the millennium generation.
Savion did his Broadway debut at 10 years old, and is credited as being the first young dancer of his generation to reawaken the art form and bring the history of The Dance in America up to date.
He brought not only the noise and funk of The Dance to audiences of thousands, but he ushered in a whole new generation of black urban dancers embracing the authentic dance and music traditions.
Mr Glover's artistry is strongly rooted in tradition while still having an own unique style of today and a challenging creativity looking into the future.
Savion has performed at the White House, shared the stage with other great artists of our time like Stevie Wonder and Sonny Rollins, recorded a song with Prince, and played with his own band at the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival.
Another triumph on the endless list of Mr Glover's noteworthy accomplishments is his success with the Broadway production "Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk", which garnered four Tony Awards, including Best Choreography.

We are very excited to offer dance education sessions with Savion Glover, a living legend of the dance and special guest at STF 2025!
The sessions are offered in three separate groups to accommodate as many dancers as possible. All groups are OPEN LEVEL, as everybody will benefit equally from these sessions. - All groups are sold out, but there are limited spots of "Spectator passes", to sit and watch.

Stockholm International Tap Dance Festival is very proud to present PROjECt.9. featuring Savion Glover, performing for the grand opening of the 2025 festival!
For the first time in Sweden, legendary dancer Savion Glover will be presenting a new production, at the prestigious theater house Oscarsteatern.
Significantly categorized as an illustrious celebration of sound, “PROjECt.9. featuring Savion Glover” will make their Stockholm debut performing in concert at the Stockholm Tap Festival.
Introducing original dance compositions and instrumental score written by Savion Glover, in addition to the expression of him that will be present through The Dance, Mr. Glover will also display his musicianship as percussionist in this percussive lead movement of sound.
Honoring his mentors and educators of The Dance this production is not your ordinary “tap show”. In fact Mr. Glover has dispose with the word “tap” as too limiting when describing his mentors or this performance and prefers to think of it as an entertaining journey exploring movement through sound education and dance.
“PROjECt.9. featuring Savion Glover” inspires sound belonging to a particular narrative initiated by those of Mythological-Ancestral Codes, The HooFeRz. While honoring the Supreme contribution from other Divine Intelligent Sound Masters this evening of collectives will also continue to explore and share limitless realms of Self-Expression with the community of Stockholm.
